MillPlus IT |
MillPlus IT (with Windows 2000) | |
Brief description |
· Basic version: 3 axes plus spindle · 6 additional axes plus 2nd spindle (option) · Digital current and speed control |
Program entry |
· ISO, free or supported entry · IPP part programming |
Position data |
· Nominal/actual value and distance to go for line segments and arcs in Cartesian coordinates, absolute dimensions, display and entry in mm or inches |
| Approaching and departing the contour |
·
Via straight line:
tangential or perpendicular · Via circular arc · Via helices |
Tool compensation |
· Tool radius in the working plane and tool length · Radius-compensated contour look ahead (for up to 400 blocks) · Compensation of vertical milling head geometry |
Tool tables |
· Tool table with up to 999 milling and turning tools |
Tool management |
· The tool changer is controlled by the integrated PLC. The MillPlus IT assumes the entire tool management, including tool life monitoring, replacement tools and oversize tools. |
Calculation of cutting data |
· The MillPlus calculates the optimum values for the feed rate and spindle speed for the selected tool and workpiece material |
Constant contouring speed |
· Relative to the path of the tool center · Relative to the tools cutting edge |
3-D machining |
· Motion control with minimum jerk · 3-D tool compensation through surface normal vectors · The offset of the tilting axes are compensated so that the tool point location remains unchanged with respect to the contour (TCPM = Tool Center Point Management) · Spline interpolation · Angular millinghead with vector programming |
| Geometry look-ahead | The MillPlus IT calculates the geometry ahead of time in order to adjust the feed rate. In this way directional changes are detected in time to accelerate or decelerate the appropriate NC axes. | |
| Tilting the working plane |
►The MillPlus IT features a special coordinate transformation cycle for controlling swivel heads and tilting tables. The MillPlus IT compensates the offsets of the tilting axes and the tool length. |
Machining
with rotary tables |
► Programming of cylindrical contours as if in two axes ► Linear feed rate |
Contour elements |
· Line segment · Chamfer · Circular arc · Circle center · Circle radius · Tangentially connecting circular arc · Corner rounding |
Contour approach and departure |
· Via straight line: tangential or perpendicular · Via circular arc · Via helices |
| Milling/turning applications |
· Turning cycles: roughing, boring and transverse/longitudinal recessing, undercutting, tapping of longitudinal and taper threads, contour roughing with workpiece blank definition (with cutter width calculation) · Contourdirection calculation for contour machining cycles · Programming a rotary axis like a spindle · Constant cutting speed · Programmable tool orientation · Unbalance detection and control · NC-controlled boring head |
Free contour programming |
· Contour programming with graphic support for workpiece drawings not dimensioned for NC (IPC) for milling and turning |
| Subprogramming | Program section repeats, subprograms, program calls | |
| EASYoperate |
·
Setup and datum

| Measuring cycles |
·
Measurement of
milling tools with lasers or tool touch probes · Measurement of turning tools with lasers or tool touch probes · Measurement and setup of workpieces (position, dimensions, angles) · Machine measurement (TPC, HPC) |
